what are ice ages?
Ice ages are also known as glacial ages, is a perod of long term reduction in the temperature of the earths surface and atmosphere resulting in expansion of continental ice sheets, polar ice sheets and alpine glaciers. Glaciers are natural. Within a long-term ice age, individual pulses of extra cold climate are termed glaciations.
